Classes, practicals, submissions, assessments, exams, interviews and finally the day dawned when i finally got to hear ‘Congratulations! You have been selected in WebAccess ‘. At that moment except for the name, i did not have any idea about the company but still it became “my company” from that very moment. All 21 of us were really excited since it was our first job and everyone was extremely happy since we thought that finally we would not have to study anymore and answer exams. So there would only be fun and a luxurious life which soon turned out to be exactly opposite. The first day itself we had to answer an exam and since then we knew that life was not going to be easy here. We all were nervous, excited, thrilled and at the same time were longing to know what exactly would be our work over here.

The first month was pure training and we had to study, solve assignments, answer exams and face the results(which was the most horrible thing of all). But very soon we got used to the environment and started enjoying the work. Our seniors kept on telling us that dedication is what is required here in Web Access and we understood the importance of the same. Every night we used to go back at 10 pm but still there were smiles on our faces because we enjoyed, enjoyed everything. We especially liked the work culture. Everyone seems to be so matured, so composed and so intelligent over here. Very soon each one of us had found his role model in the company and were trying their best to impress them as well to be like them. At 5 noon when we used to return from the tea break, we saw employees of other companies leaving for their homes. Initially we thought that they were so lucky but later we started saying that our second session starts now! This positive change in our thinking, in our behaviour and in our attitude is our real achievement here in Web Access and it is because of our fellow people in Web Access. So 10 years down the line i might be at a very high position in some other company, but i would never forget the initial days of my training, MY FIRST MONTH AT WORK.

The first month of work in a new job is always a nervous prospect because, not only we meet new people but get to learn new surroundings, new procedures and systems and, on top of all that, present yourself favorably. This is my first post from CDAC to Webaccess ,today we completed two months complete in webaccess. so now i can proudly say that i too am a Webaccesser!we reached here on 5th October. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT!

The first few weeks of a new job was crucial in determining how is new environment, senior and new tasks. During those days we had lot of exams. Every Monday we all had to appear for new exam and wait for results. Results used to be displayed on the notice board..Name of special person ,scoring less marks were highlighted dark color. Then all tried to express effectively, ‘how much efforts she/he had taken to came at bottom of rank list’.For all the trainees mentors were assigned. My mentor is so cool , that’s why ,i can ask her any question. She helped me a lot during the training and even now keeps guiding me.

During this time senior making judgments about us, so it is essential to perform to high standards, ensuring the right people notice your efforts.

Quiz Day Morning:
I was surprised when I found Neetesh(one of the Quiz contestants) reciting every detail of Pele(the football player). He knew A-Z about Pele. Apparently, Jiten had told him about an expected question on Pele, which was never asked.

Quiz Day – The Show:
The quiz started with the why-what-how about the rounds which turned into chaos. And everyone accepted the rules as they were when it was later agreed that any more arguments would only cause everyone to go home late.

The game began with Laxman taking the Buzzer Round. Laxman had a peculiar way of saying things. If the team answered wrong, his tone turned to mocking and he used to point a finger at the team and say, “Thats the wrong answer”, as if they would be punished for that. However, if the team answered right, he would turn cheerful and say aloud after an abrupt pause, “10 Points to the team”. That sure would have made people sleeping in the room, wake up with a jerk. Way to go, Lucky.

The Audio-Visual Round was also taken by Laxman in his usual fashion. The teams could choose from one out of the five Audio questions and one out of the five Visual questions. Manoj Sir got the answer right for “SpiceJet” which none seemed to recognize.

Shekar seemed to suffer from 10seconds-memory-loss as he used to raise his hand to answer and forget what the answer was. At one moment when they were told to recognize the instrument played, he told Sarang. Sorry Shekar. There wasnt any Phone-A-Friend option.

Shailesh and Sunil were a relaxed, tension-free team who didnt get demotivated by their first wrong answer that cost them 5 points(taking their score to -5 as they were on 0). They answered the next question wrong too, taking their score to -10.

Jiten began with the “Name the personality round”, by which time, the bottom two teams were out, viz. Shailesh and Sunil, and Shekar and Pradip. I can remember Shailesh getting a right answer, an answer no one could have guessed, that of Rakhi Sawant, but that was sadly a sample question, so no marks and they were already disqualified.

I felt as if my questions leaked when I found Claudy raising his hand from the audience immediately after I asked any question.

The final two rounds were played between the remaining 3 top teams, Neetesh-Yogita, Manoj-Sachin and Jijo-Amit.

The final round being Rapid-Fire Round, everyone knew facing as much questions as possible from the 20 questions in 90 seconds, would increase their chance of winning. As there were no negative marks(Prathamesh who was our judge would have heaved a sigh of relief, given the pressure he was in to add the scores and subtract them), the teams could say anything they want, which was the reason why we got answers like “Europe” as the largest ocean as well as the largest continent, “Mother Teresa” the first Indian film at the Oscars and “Reda” as the vehicle of YamRaj.

Neetesh-Yogita got 6 correct, Manoj-Sachin got 7 correct and Jijo-Amit got 8 correct. Jijo-Amit had faced the maximum number of questions overall, around 18/20, and had they answered one more correct, it would have been a tie for the first place.

The final scores for the 3 teams were:
Neetesh-Yogita : 60
Manoj-Sachin : 80
Jijo-Amit : 75

Congrats to Manoj Sir and Sachin…
