Ho sake to esme jindgi bita do,
Pal jo bhi jane wala hai !!!!! ”

Such a nice saying!, I am sure that all of us not only know it, but enjoy it ,loves it and remembers it.

But made it to convert the words on paper to the Everlasting lines….. in music??

Ofcourse one of great voice and immortal singer in the mid of 19th century,” Kishore Kumar”. People call him with love “Kishore Da”.

A versatile singer and a man of different moods, he has became a legend of Hindi film world with his eccentric, romantic, the depth, emotion and mettle in his voice that gave us so many songs that are beyond par excellence.

He also achieved notable successes as a lyricist, composer, producer, director, comic actor, screenwriter and scriptwriter. However, the man is mainly known for his brilliance in the field of music.

He had come up with his own way of singing, which was unique in all regards. Significant feature of yodelling that started out in the music world many many years back was his trademark , when classically oriented singers were only being appreciated for the playback in the films.

The traditional concept of a comedian has always been one of low status, that of a sidekick. It was Kishore Kumar who successfully became Hindi cinema’s comic hero whose popularity relied primarily on his comic talents.

He was a versatile singer, he has sung in many Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Oriya.

He was a play back singer for more than 200 movies. Directed 8 movies. Acted in more than 50 movies.

Kishore kumar was also known for his unpredictable behaviour as people could expect any impossible things from him. Once a while he used to ask the entire unit of Kishore Films, his company to reach a far away location because he had an idea and he wanted to shoot it immediately? The unit obediently reached the location early in the morning. Kishore who was already there feigned surprise at seeing them.” yahan kya kar rahe ho tum sab” They said they had traveled all the way because he had told them to.” maine kab bulaya aap logo ko” he asked them and said “chalo chalo, ab aa hi gaye ho toh picnic karte hain.” He spent the entire day with his unit, gave them a rollicking time, gave them all their days dues and asked for a air-conditioned van to take them home soon because he was worried about their families.
He cared much for the money for his singing? He had no faith in any filmmaker. He never reached the recording studios till his right hand man, Abdul gave him the signal and said “maal pahunch gaya hain, boss” if there was a part of the payment still to be made, he just stood before the mike and made all kind of grunting noises. “Aawaz nahi nikal rahi hain “he would say loudly and Abdul would ask the producer to pay up the rest of the money and Kishore voice just gushed as he got the signal about all being clear on the money front.

Kishore remained at the top till the very end succumbing to a major heart attack on 13th October 1987. He was still full of life. He was just 58. His sudden death created a void that hasn’t been filled ever since.

Zindagi ko bahut pyar humne diya, Maut se bhi mohabbat nibhayenge hum” he sang. And he is doing just that, keeping everyone up there spellbound with his songs of life – and death, or in stitches with his comic antics.

His songs has a mixture of sad and happy songs there….just like happiness and sorrow go hand in hand.
