Since January we were planning to go on a recreational trip but couldn’t make it. Finally the day came. Friday the 5th Jun. It was undecided and was a spontaneous decision that I called my friends & planned to celebrate our weekend at morachi chincholi.

In Marathi peacocks are referred to as “Mor” while “Chincholi” means a tamarind thicket or a jungle of tamarind trees. The place is called as such due to the unusually high number of peacocks inhabiting in the profusion of tamarind trees in that village. Morachi chincholi is a small village which is around 85-90 kms from Pune on Pune- Ahmednagar highway.

Where we started?
We started our journey around 10 pm from Dadar. We caught Neeta volvo and reached pune station. From station we moved to Hadapser where my friend stays. We reached there by around 2.15 am. Next day we started our journey from Hadapser. The journey was like Hadapser -> Vaghuli -> Shikarapur ->Morachi Chincholi. We reached the spot at 9.30am.The journey was too hectic, but when we reached finally to our destination, we were refreshed. The place was like heaven.

Morachi Village

It had a typical rural atmosphere. When we were passing through the village the villagers & the small kids were eyeing us with curiosity. The overall atmosphere of the village was mesmerizing. Its also made me realise that how simple life is in a village & how different and stressful life we lead in our cities.I could actually feel myself reposeful in such kind of atmosphere.

As soon as we reached the spot, the evident mewing of the the peacocks played in our ears.We were very excited. We kept our patience and went to Mr. Dattatraya’s house, had some food & took rest.

Then we went walking to nearby fields. We saw few beautiful peacocks in the fields. We tried to click some snaps but it was too difficult, as we went nearer, they ran faster.

One of amazing sights that we came across was that these peacocks were perfectly in their natural habitat with the villagers working nearby, so they were used to presence of the villagers. It was just pleasurable. We were told that this is a common sight in the village as villagers actually took care of these birds, But for all their familiarity with humans, the peacocks were shy of any outsiders. However when we tried to get closer to get decent photos, they took flight or ran faster. Thankfully I managed to take some excellent snaps of peacock by god’s grace with Canon SX10IS .

The magic continued to manifest itself as we travelled further into the village. The villagers were very helpful in providing information as to the whereabouts of the peacocks. We could see the pride in everybodys face when they talked about how unique they were to have such a beautiful coexistence between the humans and the birds.

During the noon time after the delicious lunch we lost ourselves in the relaxed atmosphere of the place. We just lazed around for some time in the cool shadows of the tamarind trees.Suddenly the climate becomes cloudy & this was the right time which I was eagerly waiting for. After all the intense efforts, I got couple of snaps of dancing peacocks as I desired. I was just felicitous looking at those pictures.

This small town is surrounded Ranjan Khalge (World famous Pot holes), Malthan, and many more natural dwelled villages. So, Next day, i.e on Sunday we planed to go to the world famous pot holes called “Ranjan Khalge” in Ranjan Village. Ranjan means name of village& Khalge (in Marathi ) means potholes.Pothole (or kettle-hole) is also a term for a formation in rivers caused by a whirlpool eroding a hole into rock. The abrasion is mainly caused by the circular motion of small sediments such as small stones in the river. The interiors of potholes tend to be smooth and regular. The site was truly awesome , we had never expected such miracle of nature.

Around in the middle of noon we reached back to morachi for return journey. We enjoyed the every moment of the village. However, soon it was time to leave. It was very difficult letting go such place wielded on us. So with a heavy heart and a promise to ourselves to return back to this magical place again,

Currently this village is having a peacock sanctuary which shelters more than two thousands of peacocks. & we expect double of that in next few years.

Best time to visit: Early morning or evening in the months of June to September (basically Monsoon season).

It was 24th November2007, I remember that day, may be it was the most special day or you can say, luckiest day for me.Luckiest day ..!!!..hmmmmm I’ll tell you guy’s later.

23rd Nov 2007, I was working in office, and suddenly Michael asked me about some AUTOCAR car exhibition which was scheduled to be held at Bandra Kurla Complex. This was a golden opportunity for an NFS freak like me. I agreed immediately. That night was an insomniac night for me. I was dreaming, but awake, driving a Ferrari in my dream and eagerly awaiting the dawn of the new day.

Finally, the sun rose proudly over the horizon and so did my hopes to see my beauty. We had decided to meet at BKC MMRDA around 1.30PM. Everything worked as per the plan and we reached the place at 1.45PM. We were desperate to move inside.
As soon as we entered, we saw all the modified sports car dressed up with JBL music system equipments. They had created an ambience similar to that of a beach. I would say it was just looking vivid.

The Italian Beauty Lamborghini Gallardo

The loud music with its bass (woofer sound) was increasing our heart beat; Now our excitements boiled up to their extremes and hence we decided to move into the actual hall where the exhibition had started.
“Wow!!! Its Awesome”, Sanvid(my friend) shouted loudly..!!

Lancer With Equipped JBL Music System

Believe it, the place was stupefying. We were confused about where to go, what to see, & what to capture as the first photograph. We started our first session of shoot from the Metallic Grey BMW 360i.

Everyone had teemed up to get a view of the beauty, just like a film shoot and giving pose “jaise aapni baap ki hi car ho” (I knew, like us, everyone wanted to display his/her photo with the car on orkut……lol…!)At that moment we were so delirious that no one could stop us.

Its Me ..!! With My Girlfriend BMW 360i.

There she was. The Italian beauty. The Lamborghini Gallardo. Actually, Gallardo means BULL and hence the car should be a HE rather than a SHE . This bull can rage to more than 300 Km/Hour and can go from 0 to 200 Km/Hour in just 14.5 Seconds.. Amazing!!

The Italian Police has it.

Don’t worry! In India too, one of the loveliest cars is put to Police use in Chennai. The Hyundai Accent.

Time was running fast without our knowledge, we moved to the other section. We took snaps with Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, BMWs, Corvettes, Audis, Rolls Royce and Bentleys..

It’s a Rolls Royce …Sorry but Cant see Amitabh Bachaan ..lol

Awesome Ladies

We were in PARADISE. Further we moved on to the next section where free rides were offered on each purchase of Mahindra’s Bolero and Scorpio collectibles. It was a disappointment as the rides had been stopped for the next 45 minutes and hence we couldn’t try it.

“Its 4.30 now we have to move” Michael said. We came out of hall. My focused eyes caught a gorgeous model standing behind the car. Immediately I said to Michael,”aare yaar atleast muze ek baar uske saath photo nikal neka moka milna chahiye..!!” We call it in hindi “Dil ki baat jubaan pe aagayi..!!…lol”.

Lucky Wheel…!!

I spotted some people trying out their luck on the “wheel of fortune”. Most were getting popcorns or discount coupons. The girl hosting it forced us to try the Wheel. There were lots of prizes on the wheel which included discounts, gifts, candyfloss, popcorn and photo op.

I span the wheel and I got a PHOTO OP. I didn’t know what it meant. I was all smiles when I came to know from the Hostess that it meant “taking a photo with a model”.“lo meri bhagwan ne sun li..!,Bhagwan ke ghar der hai magar aandher nahi….lol” I was very happy n nervous too. ”Dimmag me halchal mach gai thi…!..jaise, agar koi aachi model aai to thik hai, nahi to gai kaamse.”

Its Me again.!!.. With an American Pie..lol

Finally I took a snap with an awesome beauty.!!! I was just feeling shooting for “American pie” …lol… So that’s my story of American Pie. I think, you people definitely would have liked reading this blog.
