Last weekend, I was traveling to go to my hometown(Pune) by Volvo bus. After travelling some distance, one thought touched my mind. What if this bus wasn’t there? How would I visit my place every weekend? This vehicle takes me there within three hours or less. I seemed to thank the inventors who invented these vehicle; in fact those who invented man’s greatest creation – the wheel.

After some time my mobile rang. I told my parents the time I would be reaching. After switching off my mobile, I started getting the same thoughts. Inventions.. Really!! Today, is it possible to live without mobiles?

These initial thoughts caused the creation of more thoughts in my mind. Looking at my watch, I thought how these watches make a standard time for all so that we can schedule our plans; Meetings, train arrivals, cricket matches, school/office and all schedules are fixed on some timing. Calendars – All the days, months, years are packed in these calendars. Past, present & future events can be calculated using this. Invention of lamp is a great mile stone in our life.

Lamp brings light in our life when the only natural source of light – the sun disappears. No Music in life could make it boring. Human beings invented different musical instrument to create sounds that are pleasant to the ears. Can we imagine life without music?

Looking at the TV, that was now switched on in my bus, I couldnt imagine a life without TVs. Now every house has at least one TV. Black & white, Color, 29 inches, LCD & many more types suitable for all type of people are available. Similarly, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, music systems.

The lady wearing spectacles was reading a news paper. News paper …Gives us latest news of the world. Any person can buy this bunch of papers in a nominal amount and can read what is happening in the world.

Hmmmmm … spectacle! By nature’s rule our eyes are unable to read small letters. What a portable solution for this problem it is! Our Medical progress also leaves me speechless. Doctors literally cut patient’s head/heart or any part of body and operate him to make him as he was before. What an invention it is! It is really competition against the nature.
My bus moved into Lonavala. Beautiful scenary formed as the aftermath of the rains. A passenger in my front seat took out his camera & captured some snaps. We can see our past anytime by looking at these photos.

Movies – Man has developed such a nice concept wherein we forget our life for three hours. Isn’t it? Sports make entertainment plus health. Being literate is important. For that purpose schools were opened, then colleges and universities.

Money system for transaction is a nice way to purchase any thing you want. Office/company is nice system to earn money & provide employment.

Food…. Initially human beings used to eat leaves & fruits or hunted animals directly as a food. But today we can choose from a wide range of options from Pizza and burger to mouth-watering ice creams and chocolates & many more….

Clothes – From the ‘one of the 3 basic needs’ to more-than-just-covering-the-skin. It is now used by Individuals to express their identity.

Oh sorry. I forgot our computer. This small monitor-keyboard-processor unit has completely changed our lifestyle. Almost all organizations are making themselves computerized. We can access our mail accounts anywhere in the world. We can withdraw our money from anywhere, 24X7.

And after that too many small things that we use daily came to my mind. Really we can’t do without them. like Comb :imagine our hair without proper setting, shoes :can we walk half a kilometer without it, Table-chair: think we need to sit down everywhere , allout-good Knight :we can have deep sleep & dreams, pens: we can write anything, bags: how can we handle everything without packing everything just imagine, perfumes-scents : brings fragrance in our life, cosmetics : make beautiful to even ugly faces , remote control : let us control anything from long distance, switches : on the walls let us not to go at the ceiling to rotate a fan, vessels: just imagine there are no vessels.

This unlimited list, can grow as we think about it more. And by the time you finish another NEW list would be already waiting to be included. There are many new things that are being invented worldwide. Wow!! what facilities these great inventors have given us.

This way we are living in an age where in we are enjoying everywhere everything with great ease and simplicity. But we should some times, at least imagine a life without them. Then we can realize importance of these things which we normally ignore.

Suddenly, my bus screeched to stop and all the passengers started looking outside. Two vehicles had met with an accident.
Oh no…I forgot to tell you. These inventions if not used with their guidelines, can even take us away from this beautiful life, after all, these things were invented to make our life more beautiful.

My bus moved ahead and after some moments I got down at my stop.
