It was 6th August 2008, CiviCRM team was getting ready for first alpha release of version 2.1. You could feel the tension and sense the responsibility on everyone’s face. Although it was an alpha release, each one wanted to close their outstanding issues / bugs. We were trying to get Open Issues count below 10 and wanted to close as much QA issues as possible.
Deepak was busy fixing upgrade issues. That’s one of the most complex things we need to provide users so that they don’t lose any of their existing data. This responsibility was with Deepak and his upgrade team. Our Joomla czar, Amit was helping Deepak with Joomla related upgrade issues and fixing/adding documentation for v2.0 to v2.1 upgrade procedure. Meanwhile Sunil and Shailesh were testing / fixing Drupal related upgrade issues. It was around 1.00pm (IST), I decided to have Team Meeting in Conference Room. I did quick status check with everyone and ensured everyone was on right track. We also discussed few doubts/issues with team and decided to release alpha around 7.00pm (IST).

Hi friends I wanted to share my MONSOON experience in Mumbai with all of you. Here’s my blog regarding that.
Before this monsoon I enjoyed this beauty of water drops in my native place. I like “Monsoon†very much.
Till now I enjoyed rain in my home town riding bikes, playing football or playing cricket on the roof. Believe me, I hardly used umbrella or rain-coat in monsoon before facing mumbai’s rain. This is my first monsoon in Mumbai. I don’t know if i am enjoying or feeling scared experiencing monsoon in Mumbai.Enjoying monsoon

Attitude Is Everything
Posted by pramod.patil in Life's like this on August 1st, 2008
Attitude is very important factor in our life in all fields.Just for an instance, here is one incident.

When I was in college, in last semester inter class cricket tournament was going on. Our class team was strong contestant for trophy. We were batting first, we sent Pradeep(my classmate) as opener, who used to show very good attitude/aggression,some good shots in practice sessions so all selectors choose him as opener, but I was against him because I think who shows good performance in previous series should be given first choice, but no one backed me. And in that game he(Pradeep) wasted 7 overs without a run and we lost the battle.
All criticized him and all selectors, but all were giving excuses like that bad luck, not his time like that… But if we would have been won that game without Pradeeps contribution(as per expectation) I am confidant that he might be the opener for next game because of his positive attitude.

So what is the moral of the story ‘If you show good attitude you will get chance(read it as winning chance)’. Why I used words ‘winning chance’? any guess? Reason is simple! If anyone gets chance and if he converts it in success that chance is more valuable, but if he do not convert in success due to good attitude he will get another chance to improve his performance. And one day those more chances(gift of attitude) will give him success.
