Resource Management System or Expense Management System

Team Leader’s Take On The project:
“As freshers, RMS was our first project that was assigned by our company. As a team lead i was under pressure to complete my own tasks and look over my team members. The project started with great enthusiasm, our team decided to complete the project before the assigned days. We worked hard to achieve the tasks. Company was our home at the time of project days. But we made mistakes; like we didnt look at the GUI, since we thought of doing it finally. Secondly we didnt integrate the project before our first project review. This lead to complete scrapping of our project. We were assigned to do only some part of project i.e EMS. As our project was scrapped, we had to complete the project, atleast as many functionality as we had in our project within less time which we were having at that time. We were coding till the last night before the day of presentation and even on the day of presentation. But at the end of it all we learnt many lessons like how the project turns the way,how to keep our pace with time as per the requirements of clients which changes now and then. We did what we could do with our best potential. Finally we presented the project and we had completed our training period.”
“It was great moments to learn many things like how to work in team. How should approach the task. We all learned, worked and enjoyed much. But there are lot more thing to learn and to face.”

Team Member’s Take On The Project:
“One was scrapped at the verge of being completed and the another one just could not find completion. In both the cases all that we as a team could do is learn, learn and only learn. The project starts with the purpose or problem that needs a solution in terms of an effective system that practically delivers all the functionality required by the client to automate the current manual process. The Tasks are identified in terms of modules and sub modules. The sample prototyped or some model showing GUI is to be shown to the client (in our case it was Bipin Sir) who can give a green flag or an orange flag with minor or major modification, but be prepared for a red flag as a start again sign due to the client’s dissatisfaction. The project began with its 2 different sides, smooth going Which seems like once in a blue moon. Such a phase gives the confidence of a well settled s/w professional but “The other side” seems to surface its smiling face with all sorts of possible difficulties in our path. It at times made us wonder, “well what next?”.”
“We as a team came on holidays to work. Ocassionally we tasted rare success and other times kept wondering for solution with a wish that “If we had Avinash Sir Appear from nowhere”. Even the Google God wanted to test our devotion. As the deadline comes closer the adernalin rushes and gushes as if there is no tomorrow to complete the work. The very thought gave a visual picture with special effects of Stephen Sir, Bipin Sir and Claudian Sir with an axe in one hand with a smile saying that dare you fail(just like Angels of Death). Hey there is a flower to welcome in other hand very well hidden with lots of expectations in heart.”
“The team as a whole becomes the focus to get the work done on time. The team work, however may be there only gets magnified with good output. If the work done doesnt gel up, the project fails and gets dumped and at the least remains incomplete. The end of training was marked by the presentation of project which was not prepared before the morning of presentation. By the end of training our team became half as two of the members were axed!! But such is life. It was a great learning experience but still there is a lot to learn.”
