“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.â€
~ Elie Wiesel

A prominent actor had once had my sympathies when he was dragged into problems because he supported the Narmada Bachao Aandolan, a noble cause indeed. But his stand on the Olympic-cum-Tibetan problem has left me confused. Each person has his/her personal opinions and hence I dont criticise the actor for his statement. I, however dont agree with his statement.

Mumbai- ‘the city that never sleeps’. Mumbai- ‘the city of dreams.’ Mumbai-‘the Bollywood headquarters’. So many titles have been given to this great jungle of concrete.
The people here are very co-operative. A resident of Mumbai is called a Mumbaikar, Mumbaite or Bombayite.During critical situations like 26/7 and 7/11 we have seen the whole city battle it out in unison. It is also a bit congested. Wait a minute, VERY congested! With more than ten million people living here, it is any thing but spaced out!It is the world fifth most populated metro. The slum areas have 10-12 people living in one room .The houses are getting so expensive many people cannot even afford one.

Mumbai is full of technological appliances, everyone from the business man to the “Mumbai mascotâ€, the ‘dabbawalla’ are seen with cell phones, children with iPod’s. mp3 and mp4 players are a common sight on the streets.

We, a group 8 young and energetic people set out, in the early hours on Saturday 16th Feb on a 2 day trek to Ratangad. The fort is 3948 feet high to be precise and is located 195 Kms away from Mumbai.
Traveling in the hired sumo, we planned to reach Ratanwadi, the base village in 3 hours time. Little did we know that destiny had something else in store for us! ; For, we were stuck in a horrendous traffic jam on the highway. Being the vivacious people that we are, we still managed to have a wonderful journey. Thankfully, once we were off the highway, our journey was more pleasant. Enjoying the amazing lake surrounded by the hills, we reached Ratanwadi soon enough.
