Nano – small car… big dreams !!!

Launch of “Nano” – (new 1 lac car) by Ratan Tata was a frontpage news on almost all the newspapers. Ratan Tata mentioned it was a promise made by Tatas to the people of India. The moment Nano was launched there was a lot of controversy surrounding it, which made it an even bigger event.

Some people said it should we banned in Mumbai, since all Rickshaw owners might replace their rickshaws with Nano. There is hardly 10-15k difference in price. The question is that are you ready for Nano as a replacement to rickshaw. IMO, it would be interesting.

I definitely think this car will fulfill the dreams of lower middle class of owing a car. There were some speculations regarding safety of Nano. But I guess any car that satisfies Euro safety norms should be considered safe.

The only concern about Nano, since its offered at a much affordable price, a lot of people buying this vehicle will lead to increase in traffic levels. It is just going to worsen the current bad traffic condition.

Everything thing has good / bad side, Nano is not an exception. So I guess some people will like to have this car and for those who don’t should stay away. In my opinion, Nano will be a good city vehicle, being small in size easy to park :)

To end I would say only future will tell if this car will be successful or end up like other small cars like Matiz.

Nice NANO car, easiest to buy, many many thanks to tatas.
Now the traffic issue. The question is for how many cities traffic matters, not more than 5/10(in India). What about the rest of India(around more than 90%), nano is a precious gift by Ratan Tata for them. Hats off to him.

I agree.. Those who feel this Car is a Curse, they should remain AWAY from it..Everything on earth has got its advantages and disadvantages.. Why not improve our infrastructure so that our roads can handle this RISE in the number of cars?..Even without the NANO hitting the roads, it takes nearly 1Hour to reach Andheri from our Office when the actual time should be somewhere close to 20mins.. Is that because of NANO?

I agree with both of you. I think instead of cribbing about traffic because of NANO, authorities should focus on good infrastructure for the future.
