Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution

“They are the people who love to explore the hidden depths of computing systems.”

I think this is the small but descriptive definition of these people. A hacker is a person intensely interested in the arcane and recondite workings of any computer operating system. Most often, hackers are programmers. So, generally said, hackers don’t do any harm! Instead of that they help sysadmins as well as every-day-users to make their systems safe concerning possible attacks from hackers.

If you want to know about hackers, you must know about crackers (we call them criminals) bcoz you must differentiate between these two.

A cracker is a person who breaks into or otherwise violates the system integrity of remote machines, with malicious intent. Crackers, having gained unauthorized access, destroy vital data, deny legitimate users service, or basically cause problems for their targets.

This blog is regarding to hackers and not the hacking techniques. So obviously you have to know what attitude they possesses because I think
It’s not your talent or the gift at birth
It’s not your bankbook that determines worth
It’s not the colour or texture of your skin
It’s your attitude that lets you win!!!

1) The world is full of fascinating problems waiting to be solved:–
Being a hacker is lots of fun, but it’s a kind of fun that takes lots of effort, to be a hacker you have to get a basic thrill from solving problems, sharpening your skills, and exercising your intelligence.
2) No problem should ever have to be solved twice: To behave like a hacker, you have to believe that the thinking time of other hackers is precious — so much so that it’s almost a moral duty for you to share information, solve problems and then give the solutions away just so other hackers can solve new problems instead of having to perpetually re-address old ones.
3)Boredom and drudgery are evil : Hackers (and creative people in general) should never be bored or have to drudge at stupid repetitive work, because when this happens it means they aren’t doing what only they can do — solve new problems.
4) Freedom is good:

5) Attitude is no substitute for competence: Becoming a hacker will take intelligence, practice, dedication, and hard work.
Therefore, you have to learn to distrust attitude and respect competence of every kind.

So try to build up this attitude and be a HACKER, All the Best.

    Rohit,
Nice informative blog. But You told that Crackers are criminal & Hackers are heroes. But hacking someones persional computer without his/her permission is also one kind of crime. Isn’t it?
Though It is like Robin Hood style means stole wealth of reach community and donate them to poor people
    But its also illegal.
But I am very much fascinating about hackers. Because they are amongst Best Programmers . But crackers
(as you told other than hackers ) are also genius. Crackers can think one step ahead to developer !
    Any way Nice blog.
p.s.:- Do you know any hackers community working in India? If yes plz tell me its mail-id. (I think I can implement that attitude :) )

When you called its a kind of crime?their are several reasons some of them are
you saw the crime was happened or you when you hear from someone, isn’t it?
Now let’s think someone enters in your house,he/she judged your money ,expensive things
in house and went, you even not knew about that ,Was crime happened?Where it was happened?
Was their any suspect? the answer is no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lets take another example someone is stolen money (in our languages resources) from your
house and you caught that person on the spot, now try to give answer to the above
questions. You will definitely get your answer.
Same applies for Hackers and Crackers.
You think crackers are genius than developers (in the sense hackers???????).Well above story
might clear your this doubt also, just ask some questions to yourself who was caught while performing crime?why he/she caught?the simple answer is lack of knowledge. Now apply this comparison to Hackers and Crackers, simple.
